It is important to use verbal persuasion and the best food labels to sell more of your food products. Before you can do this, you really need a reason to be in business. You may have heard the saying that nothing moves until a sale is made. This is what must happen.
You must be able to articulate both verbally and through the written word as to why your customers and prospects should buy your food products. You should offer some benefit to your customers and prospects. For example, it might be sugar free, made from local ingredients or ideally, something that is unique to your food product.
Before you can sell anything, you need to know what you are selling. Stick to benefits rather than features. This may include greater health, amazing taste, dietary benefits, great for parties, easy to carry, etc. Then you can design your food labels around these benefits. However, your food labels need to do much more than persuade.
Here are 5 tips to get the very best food labels. They are:
- Satisfy the legal requirements.
- Choose the right stock for your food labels.
- Get the right container.
- Educate and sell to your target market.
- Employ a skilful graphic designer.
Use Your Voice To Sell More Food Products
About three years ago, I was given the opportunity to become a member of my local BNI chapter. It has been a great way to get more sales, choose better suppliers and increase my knowledge, especially in the area of public speaking. The main part of BNI is the middle part of the meeting when we get one minute to talk about our business and give examples of how we help our clients and then ask our fellow members to find referrals for us.
I was filmed recently giving my referral request for food suppliers that need high quality and affordable labels to sell their food products at weekend markets. Here is the video of that short presentation.
You may not get the opportunity to talk in front of 30-40 small business owners but in all businesses, you will get an opportunity to talk on the telephone or face to face about the products you offer. It is therefore important to be able to sell the virtues of your food products to clients and possibly, to potential resellers of your products.
